Editing & Proofreading Services

So you will always know what corrections/improvements have been made to your work, Microsoft Word's tracking and comments system is used, which will also include any suggestions for further improvements or queries. Another advantage of Tracking is that it also enables you to reject or keep each change.

For your convenience, a fully edited copy with all changes incorporated and Tracking and Comments removed will also be sent to you.

If you are a native English speaker or you feel confident in your English writing, you may prefer the proofreading service. If you are a non-native English speaker or you don't feel confident in your English writing, then you probably need the copy-editing service. See below for more details on these.

Professional editing & proofreading services available include:

  • Proofreading: spellings, punctuation, grammar, inconsistencies, mixed tenses and misused words are all analysed and corrected. Plus basic fact-checking.
  • Copy-editing: the basics with proofreading plus clarifying sentence structure (improving readability). Style, coherence, clarity, brevity, tone, accuracy and sense are all scrutinised, and improvements, with suggestions, made if necessary.
  • Technical editing: using specialist knowledge, proofreading or copy-editing academic or scientific texts. For text that involves a lot of technical jargon.
  • Americanizing or Anglicising of English. Foreign English can also be translated into British or American English.
    • websites
    • textbooks
    • journal articles
    • papers, e.g. academic, scientific, physics (physical science), astronomy (or cosmology)
    • in the UK or internationally.

I'm also happy to edit in:

  • PDF
  • LaTeX.

If you have a query or would like a related service that is not listed above, please send me an email, and I'll send you a reply as soon as I can to let you know how I can help you.
